Gray Malin Photographs “The Parker’s Dogs” at the Palm Springs Resort

Dog photographs make us stop in our tracks, whether we’re surfing the internet or browsing a store. If you’ve owned a dog, you’re taken in by the possibility that the breed in the photo looks like the one you own or have owned. Or you are simply hit by a dog.
Smart Gray I hope that’s all of it. The artistic photographer is back. seven years ago he featured a series of 14 images of animals you could probably see at The Living Desert, but they were posed around the Parker Palm Springs property like a monkey hanging out at the bar or a zebra playing hide and seek.
He recently returned to his favorite getaway spot, the Parker, and brought with him a set of star-worthy dogs. Dogs at the Parker. Prior to Palm Springs, Malin shot similar dog shows in Aspen, Colorado, New York and Beverly Hills.
The Parker Palm Springs, however, is where he found his niche.
“The Parker has long been my favorite hotel in Palm Springs and the perfect weekend getaway in Los Angeles,” he says. “The play grounds are magnificent and give ample scope for the imagination. The whole vision for this series and the animal collection was to create a fantasy world where dogs and animals were guests and employees of the Parker Hotel, enjoying all the beautiful places on the property. Both collections have a fun and playful vibe, and a whimsical and imaginative spirit. I love creating whimsical moments that make people stop for a second look, and there’s definitely something about having an unexpected animal in an unexpected place that provides that moment. I also love the crisp modern and classic design of the Parker, which is a recurring theme in my vintage-inspired photography.
Malin continues to chat with Life in Palm Springs on challenges with animal shoots and what is his favorite move from this new series.
