Has The Resort been renewed for season 2? Here’s what we know:
Renewed or cancelled?
The Resort finale is complete and stuck to the dual timeline structure the season gave us. Season 1 was all about repairing yourself and finding the willpower to move past past traumas. All of this, wrapped in a suspense and mystery-like setting like The White Lotus and investigative adventures like sherlock.
We’ve uncovered the secrets of what Pasaje really means and some side implications of how weird Alex’s character is. The season finale managed to iron out almost every detail and answer some of the story’s most burning mysteries. But there was one that creator Andy Siara left us with regarding Baltasar and his upcoming “journey,” which Luna might accompany him on. Does this mean there will be a season 2? Here’s what we know about season 2 of The Resort:
What is The Resort about?
Noah and Emma go on vacation to a seaside resort far from work-related stress. They celebrate their tenth anniversary but the marriage is in a delicate situation. In an inadvertent bicycle accident, Emma rides deep in the jungle and discovers an old telephone.
Further investigation reveals that it belonged to Sam, an island tourist who disappeared with another girl, Violet, fifteen years ago after a hurricane wiped out everything. She takes it upon herself to uncover the secrets of the past, ruffling feathers with powerful and desperate people looking for the same answers. Using the book written by a mysterious author, she must work to get answers and face the reality of her own past that she keeps running from.
HAS The complex been renewed for season 2?
At the time of this writing, no, The Resort has not been renewed for a season 2, again. Peacock has yet to make a decision on the renewal, but Andy Siara, the showrunner and lead writer for the team, believes Season 2 will have great potential given the open ending of Season 1.
In an interview with Deadline, he was quoted as saying, “I guess that’s an avenue for a season 2 thing. I decided not to show what was on that log that he hands Luna. In the world of answering all the mysteries, I guess it’s a new mystery that has no answer, just because I felt like [it’s best to have] some open questions, I guess. He shows her something that’s a news article that hints at another mystery, where Baltasar is kind of like our…I mean, he’s, he’s a full-fledged memory detective now, I guess.
He even used the expression Baltasar begins to give a new perspective to see season 1 of the show. There’s no doubt that Baltasar’s character has grown closer to our hearts over the course of the season. He started out as an antagonist; the rich kid who has no compassion or respect for anything emotional. But in the end, he brought together all the elements of season 1. His charming camaraderie with Alex and Luna showed his human side and a season 2 based on this central storyline – the search for Alex or a revisit to Passaje – might be something worth watching.
What we know about Season 2 so far:
Unfortunately, we don’t have anything concrete to share with you on the plot. Siara revealed in the same interview that all the details for the second season are TBD – to be discussed. He didn’t deny that we’ll get another season but didn’t give a firm commitment either. I guess that’s how studio heads make them guess too!
In all likelihood, we can say with reasonable certainty that There will be a second season. Factors such as viewership, critical response, and story potential all point to a revival on the cards. Be sure to check this page again as we will update it whenever there is a change.
