Hotel VIP Kids – Treatment for the most important VIPs
Family travel can be stressful, especially in these days of travel chaos. But nothing is more stress-relieving than the VIP treatment. The Hotel VIP Kids concept has been around for a while, but properties are now truly marketing to this all-important segment of future Champagne drinkers.
Many resort or vacation destination hotels have kids’ clubs or programs, but it’s also important not to overlook the VIP perks that hotels around the world can offer children.
All the hotel’s luxury programs will make your children VIP
Yes, it’s true. If you book through a travel agency using a luxury hotel program, you can still request VIP amenities for your children. Indeed, some programs encourage the customization of equipment.
Marriott Luxury – Marriott Stars
According to the Marriott Luxury STARS travel advisor portal, they describe the welcome benefit as follows:
Personalized, personalized convenience designed to be meaningful to the customer.
The STARS Advantage – Marriott Stars Luxury Advisor Guide
We’ve been talking a lot about the Hyatt Luxury Program Privé recently, but Marriott Stars is another luxury program with fabulous features.
Marriott Stars includes the usual assortment of perks which include a welcome gift, $100 credit (per stay), daily breakfast for two, room upgrade, early check-in, late check-out and exclusive “Guardian Angel”. This “guardian angel” provides guaranteed direct support to travel advisors in a short period of time.
Sewing by Langham
You don’t hear much about the luxury program for Langham, but it’s really solid. They strive to create captivating memories for customers. At The Langham, London, the VIP team went above and beyond to create an incredible experience. Amenities included “stuff” for children, as well as a teepee setup in the room.
Couture by Langham is another program with a travel advisor response time guarantee as well as the usual suite of customizable luxury perks.
How can I benefit from these advantages?
The easiest way to get these benefits is to book a luxury hotel property through a luxury travel advisor. One of the most important things when looking for a travel consultant is their interest in customer profiling. Likes and dislikes are very important, and most luxury hotels really value guest information.
Ideas can border on necessities like food allergies, but also preferences like desire for alcohol as part of welcome amenities, which is highly suggested if you have children, or such things are food desires that include vegan, vegetarian or bacon positive.
It’s also not uncommon for luxury travel advisors to share your wine and champagne or sparkling wine preferences.
But I didn’t book with a luxury advisor
Maybe you used points or maybe you booked directly with the property; you can still get VIP amenities for your kids; you just have to “work” it personally. Be realistic, because if this is a Fairfield Inn in Wichita (no disrespect to Fairfield or Wichita), expectations for VIP amenities should be pretty low.
For points or direct bookings, try using your resources first if you are an elite member of a hotel loyalty program. Call the hotel’s loyalty program Elite number and get the best email address to contact the property. About 3-5 days before you arrive at the property, send a short but direct email about how you plan to stay with your children.
Just like your profile with a luxury travel advisor, inform the property of your children’s interests. Note that the Four Seasons Lisbon’s amenities for Olive have an “animal theme,” which is no coincidence since we told our luxury travel consultant she loves animals.
It’s worth mentioning that Four Seasons offers some of the best “surprise and delight facilities” for children, as well as extensive children’s programs at many properties. The exclusive Four Seasons Preferred Partner luxury travel advisor program is also one of the best in the industry. Not only does this program offer an ultra-generous breakfast benefit, but in almost all cases, you can choose to enjoy your fancy breakfast via room service. Most kids love room service because nothing tastes better than pancakes or waffles in bed.
Are you a leading (hotel) elite? If you are a Hyatt Globalist, be sure to contact your Globalist Concierge prior to travel. Marriott BonVoy Titanium Ambassadors also have similar “personal service” contacts.
More toys at the Conrad in Midtown
Sometimes hotels offer unique VIP kids packages, although these are often expensive alternatives to getting a luxury hotel to “VIP your kids”.
This isn’t the first time the Conrad New York Midtown has catered to younger guests. When the hotel opened in 2019, it offered a package straight out of Tom Hanks’ “Big,” partnering with FAO Schwartz to fill a toy suite. It came with the dancing piano and the tall giraffes that appeared all over New York holiday movies.
Of course, all the toys were also for sale, and guests were treated to a private shopping spree at Rockefeller Center’s flagship FAO Schwartz. The package started at $3,000 per night.
Little Conrad and SmarterKids Suites
And now just for something fun. By the end of the year, you can book a “Little Conrad Suites” package at the Conrad New York Midtown. Stays have a two-night minimum and can be booked in either a Two-Bedroom City View Suite or a Park View Apartment.
This year’s package is a bit more modest, but it’ll still set you back a pretty penny, with packages starting at $1,300 per night and a two-night minimum stay required. The suites will be filled with toys from SmarterKids, a company that sells items that incorporate learning and education into everyday play. The Conrad markets “strategic creative corners, reading nooks, arts spaces and STEM activity zones.” Hey, anything that takes them away from their iPad. Conrad targets suites for families with children ages 3 to 10.
I strongly suggest that you contact your preferred Hilton Impresario Luxury Travel Consultant to book the Conrad New York Midtown, especially since you may want to compare some of the Impresario Luxury Program suites/rooms versus package options.
Impresario Promotion – Conrad New York Midtown
While not applicable to “Little Conrad Suites” packages, Conrad New York Midtown is also offering an Impresario Luxury Program Stay 3, Pay 2 promotion. Offer valid through March 31, 2023, with some exceptions in based on date and capacity. Impresario is another luxury program that is impressive and would tend to have many great promotions.
Additionally, Hilton Gold/Diamond benefits “stack” on top of Hilton Impresario benefits at Impresario properties in the United States.
The Conrad New York Midtown is located just south of Central Park, so even if you get tired of the toys in your room, there’s a whole town to play with. And if you want a more traditional tourist experience, fret not: Times Square is just a few blocks south.
I hope you now have some ideas for finding the perfect path to making your kids VIPs on your next luxury hotel stay.
Hats off to Luxury Travel Advisor, where I first saw the Little Conrad Suites.
