Lakeville Vacation Home Plan Ornate Craftsman Style
The Lakeville house plan is a great option for families looking to downsize their year-round residence or build a vacation getaway.
At 1,712 square feet, the simple layout of this tiny house plan makes it economical to build.
From the perspective of the street, this one-story design is adorned with stone wainscoting, decorative beams, and clean horizontal siding. Slender columns with stone bases frame the front door and the arched covered porch.
Through the front door, the entrance is converted into an airlock. This floor plan feature is ideal for homeowners building in climates with widely varying temperatures. The separation of the entrance from the main part of the house helps to regulate temperature variations with the comings and goings of the house. Inside the airlock there is space for a bench with hooks, a changing room and a mechanical closet.
From the entrance hall, the floor plan opens up to the great room. The large vaulted living room has a cozy corner fireplace.
Next to the living room, a man door opens onto the vaulted covered terrace which extends the living room outside when the weather allows it.
Off the living room, the great room transitions into the dining room which is separated from the kitchen by a peninsular dining bar. The efficient kitchen is comfortably appointed and offers a corner pantry.
The Lakeville offers the flexibility of being a two or three bedroom home. If only two bedrooms are needed, there is a nice separation between the sleeping areas, with the secondary bedroom located on the left side of the floor plan. A few steps from the bedroom is a compartmentalized bathroom.
The owners suite occupies the right rear corner of the house and has a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Outside the owners suite is a den, which is the flexible space and can be set up as a third bedroom or playroom.
