Mackinac Island Mission Point Launches First-Ever Day Vacation Package
MACKINAC ISLAND, MI – As Michigan’s most popular tourist destination, Mackinac Island can see thousands of visitors flocking daily from its docks. Some settle for multi-day stays at hotels and resorts on the island, but many come to see the sights and find fun activities for the day before returning to the mainland.
To help these excursionists in their adventure projects, Mission Point Resort deploys its very first Day Trip Experience package. This “day trip” combines island essentials like a ferry ticket and bicycle rentals with outdoor activities and even vouchers for take-out meals or snacks.
“We believe that time spent together is precious and the opportunity to slip away for a day is something we are excited to offer to our community,” said Liz Ware, vice president of marketing for the resort. “We wanted to be able to offer guests another option for touring the island, just in case they couldn’t make the time to stay overnight.”
The day trip package includes:
- Shepler’s Mackinac Ferry Pass (departing from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace)
- Half-Day Bike Rental (Mission Point has new bespoke bikes and offers single-speed, multi-speed, and tandem rentals)
- A round of putt putt golf on The Greens of Mackinac’s 18-hole putting course
- $ 25 in food credit at Mission Point restaurants. Options include on-site dining, outdoor seating, take-out, and quick-to-go meals
The cost of the day trip package ranges from $ 50 to $ 80. For more details and to book a ticket, see the resort’s website.
Mission Point is scheduled to reopen for guests on June 25 and has special guest health and safety protocols in place.
