Paradise is just a short drive away at Emerson Resort!

It’s holiday season and although I like to get away from it all for a while, the last few times I’ve traveled were so stressful just to get there with flight delays and cancellations than when we Came home, you guessed it, we needed another vacation. One that caused no stress as we tried to escape the stress! Of course we knew exactly where to go, our favorite place in all of New York, Emerson Station.
The first thing we always do when we get here is go shopping. We love their shops! We’ve been coming here for years and some of our favorite things come from Emerson’s Shops,
like my mom’s favorite pillow, our old-fashioned bathtub-shaped soap dish, and so many candles – we choose a new one every time.
Oh, and I can’t forget the CANDY!
There’s also a cool store with kaleidoscopes and wind chimes. Here, you can discover the largest kaleidoscope in the world… but also the SMALLEST! It’s so small and cute!
Time to stroll around the resort after dropping off our shopping bags… and to breathe in the mild mountain air that we love so much! I wish they could sell THAT in stores! The sweet air coupled with the sounds of the rushing water of Esopus Stream instantly transports us to heaven on earth. And we didn’t even have to fly! It’s just total peace and natural beauty.
It’s a great place to do nothing, but there’s also so much to do! We had perfect pool weather, which matched their perfect pool! It’s one of our favorite ways to unwind at Emerson, and you’ll see why:

There are also nice hiking trails and old fashioned bikes so we had a brilliant active afternoon.
I’m sure you’re wondering, how could it be more perfect? Well, I have the answer. Food. Or, amazing food in an amazing place, Grid of wood notes.
We LOVE their salads! And sitting outside right next to the creek rushing past us was very special. They have so many things on their menu it was hard to decide but we settled on this delicious risotto:
It was so creamy and tasty, with bits of vegetables and mushrooms….mmmmmm…but I have to say that I liked the dessert even more!

While we love all the things to do outside at Emerson, we also love relaxing in the room.

It’s so relaxing to have the door open to hear the sounds of the brook, turn on the fireplace and do nothing…until it’s time for an air-jet tub or a shower. rain effect! More paradise…

The long, lazy nights here at Emerson, in any season, are truly the best nights you can experience! We always bring board games and have fun together by the fire and create so many happy memories. Another thing we do there is art! They now have a whole art room and it was so nice to see Liz again and paint our watercolors! Here are our masterpieces:

I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of any other place where you can do all of this and be so close to New York. Every time I go to Emerson Resort I love it even more than last time. I can’t wait to be back in the fall. So if you need some time to relax but don’t want to spend hours in an airport or on a flight, it’s definitely time to check out Emerson Station.
