Roof and stairs largely restored amid construction of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Renovated resort studios are being built at the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for Disney Vacation Club Members. Some areas of the complex have been closed off and covered in scaffolding as the buildings are updated inside and out.
Scaffolding covers every floor of this building.

White tarps cover the top row of scaffolding.

The roof shingles have been removed for refurbishment, but have mostly been replaced.

We didn’t see any crew the last time we checked the build.

A few white tarps are on a roof in the distance.

A black weather-resistant coating is still visible on a roof where the shingles have not been replaced.

We could also still see black coatings on smaller roofs.

The stairwells were almost completely dismantled a few weeks ago but have slowly been rebuilt.

The stairs and walls have been restored in this stairwell, but the final paneling has yet to be installed.

You can still see the wooden and steel supports of the walls.

At the far end of the building, a green aerial lift vehicle is parked behind the construction walls.

New walls still need to be installed around this stairwell.

Scaffolding is also wrapped around the lake side of the building.
